Agriculture Project Specialist
About the Role
The Agriculture Project Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing agribusiness digital initiatives within the M-Kulima platform and other IoT-driven solutions. The role involves engaging agricultural value chain stakeholders — including farmers, buyers, logistic companies, and input providers — to accelerate the adoption of digital platforms such as M-Kulima and M-Pesa.
The specialist will also collaborate with government authorities and key partners to align the organization’s vision with national priorities in agricultural digitization, sustainability, and financial inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and execution of agriculture-based digital projects under the M-Kulima initiative.

Recruit and onboard agribusiness partners, logistics providers, buyers, and farmers onto the digital platforms.

Drive the continuous development and enhancement of digital farmer services to ensure innovation and market relevance.

Provide technical support and training to partners and farmers using the platform.

Maintain the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of all project and stakeholder data.

Build and sustain strategic relationships with government institutions and agricultural associations.

Conduct stakeholder mapping, engagement sessions, and field visits to ensure project sustainability and scalability.

Track and report on project performance metrics and implementation outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience in agriculture or agri-tech projects is required.

Familiarity with digital platforms, IoT applications, and mobile financial services (e.g., M-Pesa, M-Kulima) is an added advantage.

Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and partnerships in agriculture, ICT, or digital transformation.-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and negotiation skills.

At least three (3) years of experience in agriculture project management, strategic planning, or business development.

Self-driven, innovative, and capable of identifying and developing new business opportunities.

Quick learner with the ability to understand digital platforms, partnership models, and government processes.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Timely delivery of project milestones and “first-time-right” solutions.

Number of stakeholders (farmers, agribusinesses, logistics, buyers, input providers) successfully onboarded.

Data accuracy, confidentiality, and system security compliance.

Measurable impact in adoption and usage of digital agricultural services.
