Analyst – Merchant
About the Role
The Analyst – Merchant will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights on merchant performance and merchant acquisition channels. The role focuses on performance monitoring, reporting, analytics, stakeholder support, and effectiveness within the Merchant & Channel Acquisition function.
The successful candidate will work closely with MIS, Revenue Assurance (RA), IT, and key business stakeholders to monitor performance, analyze trends, resolve data issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1) Business Analysis & Performance Monitoring

Analyze merchant performance and acquisition channels, focusing on Active Merchants, Subscribers, Transactions, and Revenue.

Monitor daily performance against targets, highlight variances, and propose improvement opportunities.

Provide monthly analytical insights on arbitrage reports shared by the Revenue Assurance team.

Evaluate the effectiveness of channel commission models and recommend improvements to achieve desired business outcomes.
2) Reporting & Data Management

Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly merchant and channel performance reports.

Perform data querying and extraction from relevant systems; analyze inputs and generate reports to support management decisions.

Prepare, maintain, and present merchant performance dashboards to the Head of Department.

Continuously improve reports and dashboards to enhance usability and automation.

Prepare and submit accurate channel salary files at month-end.
3) Stakeholder Support & Collaboration

Provide timely support to internal stakeholders on reporting and merchant data-related queries.

Collaborate with MIS and other data teams to investigate, reconcile, and resolve data inconsistencies.

Serve as a key point of contact for merchant performance and channel insights.
4) Incentives, Rewards & Campaign Support

Develop and monitor reward and recognition programs for merchant acquisition channels.

Track contest performance, publish results, and follow up to ensure rewards are delivered to the right recipients.

Support the preparation of business cases for merchant/channel projects and campaigns.

Deliver post-campaign performance reports including impact analysis, key learnings, and achievements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis, data mining, reporting, business intelligence, or performance monitoring.

Experience handling large datasets is an added advantage.
Technical & Professional Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Knowledge of BI tools and data querying (Oracle, SQL Developer).
