Data Warehousing System Administrator
About the Role
The Data Warehousing System Administrator will ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and platforms, including Big Data, Mediation Systems, and Data Warehousing environments.
The role involves database administration, system monitoring, vulnerability management, and automation to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and monitor Big Data platforms, Mediation Systems, and Data Warehouse infrastructure.

Perform database administration, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.

Oversee and monitor data movement and ETL processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

Manage vulnerability assessments, patching, and upgrade schedules to maintain security compliance.

Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to improve reliability and efficiency.

Prepare system reports and support management with technical insights for data-driven decisions.

Ensure high system uptime and compliance with corporate security and data integrity standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data requirements for analytics and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration, database management, or data warehousing.

Proven expertise with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar database systems.

Experience with Big Data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Informatica, or Talend).

Hands-on knowledge of system patching, automation, and vulnerability management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Working Conditions
- Workshop-based with occasional field visits for training and support
- Requires adherence to workplace safety standards and proper tool usage
- May involve flexible hours or weekend work based on operational needs
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
System uptime and performance across Big Data, Mediation, and Data Warehouse platforms.

Accuracy and timeliness of data processing and movement.

Compliance with patching and vulnerability management schedules.

Quality and reliability of reporting for regulatory and management use.
