IT Application Support Engineer

About the Role

The IT Application Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting core IT applications and technical operations, particularly integrations with external partners and third-party systems.

The role focuses on ensuring system stability, supporting business-critical applications, managing integrations, monitoring performance, and delivering timely reporting support to business teams.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to maintain reliable service delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Systems & Application Support

  • Support core IT systems and applications including AM, KYC, LEAP, BI, Singleview, Pretups, and related platforms.
  • Ensure accurate data loading and reporting within Business Intelligence systems.
  • Support Level 1 Mobile Financial Services (MFS) operational functions and standard integrations with third-party systems.
  • Coordinate and manage integrations from planning through implementation and go-live stages.
  • Monitor system alerts, performance issues, and service availability.
  • Prioritize integrations and support requests based on business requirements and operational impact.
  • Contribute actively to overall IT operations and continuous service improvement initiatives.
2. System Stability & Reliability
  • Conduct regression testing after deployments, integrations, and product launches to ensure service stability.
  • Ensure all systems and services function correctly without deviations in customer experience, functionality, or charging mechanisms.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact service availability or customer experience.
  • Support go-live activities and ensure all technical requirements are completed successfully.
3. Partner & Vendor Support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party technology partners and vendors.
  • Ensure timely service delivery according to agreed SLAs and operational standards.
  • Coordinate technical support and issue resolution for partners during incidents or operational disruptions.
  • Align partner support activities with business priorities and operational objectives.
4. Reporting & Business Support

  • Ensure timely preparation and distribution of business and operational reports.
  • Resolve reporting-related technical issues promptly to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Support business teams with data analysis, reporting accuracy, and information availability.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, BCA, B-Tech, or related technology field.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, including:

    • Java
    • PHP
    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • C / C++
    • Python
    • CSS
    • Perl
    • Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge of databases, including:

    • Oracle
    • MySQL
    • MSSQL
  • Strong understanding of system integrations and application support.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in IT support, application support, or telecom/technology environments.
  • Experience within telecom, fintech, or financial systems operations is an added advantage.
