M-Pesa Insights & Reporting Analyst

About the Role

The M-Pesa Insights & Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making by transforming business needs into actionable insights, reports, and financial forecasts. The role focuses on performance analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement within the M-Commerce function.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with IT, data, finance, and business teams to monitor performance, evaluate trends, and support continuous improvement across products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Performance Monitoring
  • Analyze overall M-Commerce performance, products, and market trends.

  • Track and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decisions.

  • Monitor project progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support strategic planning initiatives and marketing programs through data-driven insights.

Reporting & Data Management
  • Define business requirements and prepare accurate reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis.

  • Design, improve, and automate internal and external reports in line with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop analytical models to support decision-making and performance optimization.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting standards.

Financial Planning & Forecasting
  • Prepare operating budgets and support revenue and cost forecasting aligned with business strategy.

  • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and communicate financial impacts of changes.

  • Manage financial resource allocation and utilization in line with approved budgets.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct stakeholder workshops and act as a liaison between business, IT, and data teams.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Prepare presentations and present insights to senior management and decision-makers.

  • Support change management and implementation of new reporting solutions.

Pricing & Market Intelligence

  • Continuously track product pricing and assess relevance against costs, market conditions, and customer needs.

  • Monitor competitor activities and anticipate market dynamics.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant industry or functional experience.

  • Experience handling large datasets will be an added advantage.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

  • Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen.

  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear insights.
