Pre-Sales & Solution Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pre-Sales & Solution Architect to support a leading telecommunications company in Tanzania. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the pre-sales process , identifying technical and business requirements of clients before designing and proposing tailored solutions.

This position involves:

  • Collaborating with sales teams , account managers , and technical partners
  • Preparing tender documentation, product demonstrations , and solution proposals
  • Supporting the transition from sales to delivery by ensuring smooth handover and technical clarity
  • Ensuring compliance with internal processes, quality standards , and client expectations

This role is ideal for someone who is technically proficient, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering innovative telecom or IT-based solutions

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales Technical Support

  • Engage directly with corporate clients and sales teams to understand their technical and business needs
  • Design and propose customized technology solutions aligned with client requirements
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations , and solution walkthroughs
  • Provide technical input during RFP/RFQ responses and tender submissions
  • Collaborate with implementation/project teams to ensure accurate transition from sales to delivery
 

2. Sales Process Management

  • Act as the technical expert during sales engagements
  • Articulate the company’s technology portfolio to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with solution quality standards , service level agreements (SLAs), and business processes
  • Support bid development with accurate technical design, cost estimation , and capability statements
 

3. Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management

  • Monitor and manage SLAs related to network availability, KPI performance , and service delivery
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Network Operations, Implementation Teams) to meet agreed SLAs
  • Identify and resolve potential issues that may affect service delivery timelines or quality

4. Project & Sales Strategy

  • Assist in qualifying and validating sales opportunities
  • Help define appropriate technical sales strategies and activities
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish a center of excellence for project management within the organization
  • Provide forecasting inputs for revenue planning, resource allocation , and bid reviews
 

5. Process Documentation & Compliance

  • Drive end-to-end documentation of pre-sales and solution design processes
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures , and industry best practices
  • Review and improve workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
 

6. Work Order & Change Management

  • Ensure changes to networks — including integration of new nodes and elements — are implemented with minimal disruption
  • Document all changes accurately and provide feedback to the responsible Key Account Manager (KAM)
  • Support change control processes and ensure all updates align with client expectations
 

7. Business Continuity & Risk Management

  • Participate in defining BCM (Business Continuity Management) and DRP (Disaster Recovery Planning) strategies
  • Align solution design with company policies and client-specific resilience requirements
  • Proactively identify and address risks associated with network architecture, system integration, or solution deployment

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering , Computer Engineering , or Information Technology
  • Advanced Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Additional certifications in telecom networks, IP systems, or solution architecture will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Telecommunications or IT Operations Management
  • Familiarity with mobile network architectures , technologies (GSM, LTE, 5G), and IP environments
  • Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols : EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS
  • Experience in project management is preferred but not mandatory

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of telecom/IT products and solutions
  • Ability to design end-to-end network solutions
  • Proficient in preparing bid documents, technical proposals , and presentations
  • Familiarity with tender processes , RFP/RFQ handling, and client proposal writing
