Regional Sales Executive
About the Role
The Regional Sales Executive will lead sales operations and market expansion for d.light’s PAYGO and portable solar products in Katavi.
This is a field-based position with extensive travel, requiring strong sales acumen, retail network management, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Growth & Expansion
Conduct direct selling and awareness campaigns at Experience Centers.
Identify and onboard new customers to grow the solar product user base.
Execute targeted outreach and community engagement.
2. Sales & Agent Management
Recruit, train, and coach sales agents.
Monitor sales performance and adapt strategies to meet targets.
Ensure efficient stock distribution to retail outlets.
3. Channel Development
Maintain high stock availability across all outlets.
Activate new sales channels: schools, SACCOs, MFIs, NGOs, farmers’ groups, and local markets.
Promote d.light products among distributors and agents.
4. Customer Engagement & Market Insights
Resolve inquiries and complaints promptly.
Track competitor activities and market trends.
Submit regular sales and market intelligence reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma or higher in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
Experience:
2–3 years in sales (FMCG, renewable energy, telecom, PAYGO).
Rural/semi-rural market experience preferred.
Solar/off-grid solutions knowledge is a plus.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Mobile reporting and data handling proficiency.
Self-driven, adaptable, and results-oriented.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Recruitment and performance of sales agents.
Timely resolution of customer issues.
Quarterly activation of new sales channels.
95%+ stock availability in all outlets.
